Originally based in Washington, D.C., CityFolk is an acoustic folk group that plays music spanning from contemporary acoustic folk and pop music to country-folk music.
Currently residing in North Carolina, the group consists of Jane Muldoon-Smith (lead vocals and guitar), along with husband Peter Smith (lead and background vocals, lead 6 and 12 string guitars and guitar synthesizer) and occasionally our good friend, Norm White (6 and 12 string guitars).
Our repertoire includes such artists as Simon and Garfunkel, Peter, Paul and Mary, Cheryl Wheeler, Stan Rogers, Judy Collins, Kathy Mattea, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Dan Fogelberg, and Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
I provide continuous support to mothers during labor and delivery, in the form of emotional support, knowledge of comfort measures, breathing
techniques, helpful positions, and certain massage techniques. I am certified by Doulas of North America. I meet with the mother and her
partner at least once pre-natally and once after the birth, provide telephone support during the waiting period, and when labor begins meet the
mother either at her home or at the birthing facility or hospital. I live in Chapel Hill and most often attend births at UNC, Piedmont Women's
Center, and Durham Regional Hospital. For further information.
