Report of the Executive Director FINANCES: The audit is nearing its conclusion -- it is taking a little longer than predicted last month because we have had to do some detail work hunting down documents and other proof of activities. At this point we have taken up the final financial statements and will definitely wrap up before our "need by" date of December 1st. Apart from that all is going well. We so far have 94% of our projected dues and reimbursements for the fall, 106% of our ad revenue budget, and 143% of expected C4 dues. And expenses have been within tolerances. After this, we turn to our 990 (normally due in November) and a renewal of the Charitable Solicitation License. VOLUNTEERS: Recruitment has been reasonably good. We did fine for our last stuffing party and filled a key C4 volunteer position (Denise Whitlow is assisting with the huge 40-child contigent this fall). Cherie is doing a great leadership job with the picnic, we had lots of good help at First Night, and we are starting to get singers for the caroling project. MARKETING: The joint "Cary in the Art of It All" brochure has been published and is being placed and mailed by seven participating organizations. We are no turning to Voices of Light and December 8 graphic design. MISCELLANEOUS: I picked up a third file cabinet in our storage unit (for $6.08!), Respectfully submitted, David R. Lindquist Executive Director
