Report of the Executive Director
Submitted for the May 15, 2007 meeting of the Board of Directors and May 1, 2007 meeting of the Chorus Committee.
FINANCES
We continue to stay on target for this fiscal year. I think there is a good chance we can end the year in the black as long as remaining admissions are in good shape (May concert) and there are no unexpected expenses.
AUDIT
The Audit Committee met on April 24 to discuss arrangements for the FY07 audit. We decided to go with Joyce and Company again provided we can get a good letter of agreement. The auditor was asked to proceed with a letter.
LOGISTICS
I am discussing final logistical arrangements for American Celebration with the Amphitheatre managers on May 2nd. A note: beginning in May and going forward our rehearsal space will only be open starting 7 PM. The aerobics class is shifting to Room A for the 6-7 PM period. Also, I am completing paperwork to open a new 10x15 storage unit to replace our existing 10x10 property acquired eight years ago. We had to leave our arrangement with Jim Cole for extra space.
GRANTS AND DEVELOPMENT
Joy Cox and I met with United Arts' Youth Arts Programming panel on April 25 to discuss the C4 grant application. I think that went well. We have a Community Arts grant interview on May 3rd.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Our display at Cary Spring Daze on April 28 went quite well. Several CSCers participated and we had some audition signups.
MEMBER RESOURCES, CDs, ETC.
The Picnic Committee is on track and arrangements are proceeding well for the May 19 picnic at Ritter Park. Also, Cherie and I have been looking at the Virtuoso qualifiers and we are getting a good total so far (all bags and pins have been ordered so we can make presentations on May 26th).
