Report of the Executive Director
Submitted for the April 16, 2007 meeting of the Board of Directors and April 2, 2007 meeting of the Chorus Committee.

FINANCES
We continue to stay on target for this fiscal year. Income on the year continues to outpace expenditures. Pledges, grants, dues, and music reimbursements have all tracked well. With the March concert behind us we are getting a better sense of our final position and admissions income can still meet budget if we do well in May. At this stage it appears we will probably end the year in the black.

LOGISTICS
The only remaining issues concern use of Koka Booth Amphitheatre in May. I have a few more matters to settle (lights and sound are top of the list).

GRANTS AND DEVELOPMENT
The Town of Cary grant process is almost over and we were recommended for a $13,000 grant (up 30% from this year) which will be going to Council for approval later this spring. Our United Arts panel meetings are coming up later this month. Other than that, the Musicales event on the 22nd is our only important remaining fundraising item.

PUBLIC RELATIONS
We're getting organized to promote the May concert. Also, CSC is participating in Cary Spring Daze as an exhibiting group on April 28 (although the format is different from past years and we are not staffing our own booth for a full day). Those will be our last publicity activities for the fiscal year.

BOARD AND COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS
We have a full slate for Chorus Committee and a sufficient slate for the Board, although we are pursuing one additional nominee for that panel.

MEMBER RESOURCES, CDs, ETC.
We still have a considerable inventory of CDs from American Celebration and several of last year's concerts. I sent most of the Christmas type CDs to storage. We only sold 3 CDs at the last concert. A survey is about to start of members who dropped out of CSC in the past year to better understand why we lose singers. The Practice Page was updated several times and includes all the jazz music we know of.

Respectfully submitted,

David R. Lindquist

Executive Director
