Report of the Executive Director
Submitted for the February 20, 2007 meeting of the Board of Directors and February 6, 2007 meeting of the Chorus Committee.
FINANCES
We're now into the second half of the fiscal year and we are still in pretty good shape. Income on the year continues to outpace expenditures. Pledges, grants, dues, and music reimbursements have all tracked well. I will be presenting a short report on these matters at the next meeting.
LOGISTICS
I have been working with the Town of Cary and SMG to set up concerts at Koka Booth Amphitheatre for both May 26th and also April 2008 (proposed concert with RSO). St Paul's Episcopal has been booked for December 8th. We should be in good shape for all concert venues through May 2008. First Night went smoothly on January 22.
GRANTS AND DEVELOPMENT
We're about set to file our Town of Cary grant application. The deadline is 2/15. I'm also working on the United Arts grants which are due in a month. I've attended three mandatory meetings with staff so far. We're coming up on a deadline for our Charitable Solicitation License renewal (mid month) and all that will be needed is our final 990 and the audit statement, both of which should be in hand after this coming weekend.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
The Spring joint arts brochures produced by agreement with six Cary area arts groups went out in mid-January. We have gotten Debi DeAnn on line as Mailings Coordinator. The next promotion is for the March 31 concert. The first few events are press releases, postcards, and posters.
MEMBER RESOURCES, CDs, ETC.
The MIDI files have mostly been uploaded to the Practice Page. Don Ward has helped enormously in sequencing additional scores. We're about to release the CD from our November concert. We still have a considerable inventory of CDs from American Celebration and several of last year's concerts.
